First off, the EGR valve *will* have carbon on it....that's what it passes back into the intake track: exhaust gas. When you say you're having a "HUGE problem" what exactly do you mean? Are you getting an engine light or some other symptom that would point to your EGR valve? What happens if you don't clean the valve "every couple of days"?
I think you may be worrying about nothing. If there is truely enough carbon building up on your EGR valve to cause some OBD malfunction code or major driveability problems, then you need to look elswhere. If the mixture is that rich then you've got a problem in your fuel injection system, the computer or both. If the problem is this serious it more than likely would've set a trouble code. Have you tried downloading the OBD trouble codes...if there are any?
