The FMIC will absolutely make more power, especially in warm weather. Overheating with AC is an issue though. Most poeple get a small enough FMIC that some air still gets to the radiator. The ECU will run both radiator fans, make sure they are both on with the AC. In really hot weather and my FMIC, I have to run both fans and I dont even have the AC stuff installed (And in the way of airflow). So be sure they are good. MAybe add one pusher to the middle front of the AC condenser. Theyre only ~70 bucks, and typical DSM FMIC kits come with one.
The ICs that come to mind are the Griffin/RRE setup, and one of those long cores that is short in height, maybe 8 inches or so tall. Shrouding with some sheetmetal helps a lot too, as does putting an extraction vent in the hood.
Its a pain in the ass to run a FMIC and AC, in hot weather. But it can be done if you monitor things and keep "upgrading" as necessary until temps are in control.
