Here's my argument in favor of the Echo's design:

Smush the GS from front to back, but leave it just as tall. Sprinkle weird dark grey mouldings around the bottom. Pinch the grill. Take off the second sets of headlights and taillights. Replace alloy wheels with wheel covers (still six-spoke!) Take the 300's three-liter engine and cut it in half; put the 1.5-liter engine back in, but leave in the VVT-i.
Remember: Carefully discard the other half of the engine in a leak-proof container.
Finally, shave the price down by about 2/3!
Don't forget to move it from the Lexus dealership to the Toyota lot next door.
