OK first the easy part the C designates 2WD, while CK designated 4WD. Now for the rough ride, I'd say you probably can't expect to smooth a ride as the truck is designed to carry and/or tow heavy loads, so both the front and rear suspension is both heavy duty and stiff, But you could try carry a few hundred pounds in the rear and it may make the ride a little more suptle. On to the lights, I know that in my truck all the lights come on when the teuck is started, but they shut themself off almost immediatly, more as a way to ensure that all the bulbs are working i would guess. Unless the service engine soon light remains on during driving it's not a problem. Not sure about the oil pressure on your particular engine, however I've never seen my temp gauge rise above about 120 even while towing heavy loads in the dead of summer.
