Post Quick or how to distinguish what engine I have....

I realize that sounds like a silly question but I have been an avid Chevy man for my whole life. This is my first Ford, it is an 1990 F-250 and has a 5.8 in it. My buddy swears it is 460 but I think it is a 351 Windsor. I did not get an owner's manual with the truck and I am the second owner. I asked the original owner and he says "I (get this) always assumed it was a V-8"......LOL. Needless to say he was not much help.

The truck has 138,00 on it and is very straight. Brand new transmission and I did a complete front and rear brake job on it yesterday. It is a great hauler and so far, other than everything is the exact opposite of a Chevy, I am pleasantly surprised. I am just stumped on what motor I really have. Would like to save a few bucks from purchasing a Chilton's book just to find out.

Can anyone help?

Also, is it a typical thing for the radio light not to work? Hoe about the gas gauges? My friend says it is a typical thing with those models of Froid.....

Thanks a bunch ahead of time.....
