I have a 97 Grand Am. Went to the bank the other day, when i went to start it it acted like vapor lock. car would just make noise like it wanted to start but wouldn't. after a few it finally turned over.. drove it home. next day went to work.. came out it started.. drove it about 1 hour. shut it off in pkg lot. when i went to start it, it did the same thing.. cranks but wouldnt start.. this time it didnt start at all. now.. not starting ets off light is now on, this wasnt on before, also now after puting gas straight into the engine, it started for awhile but brakes seemed like they were gone. husband put a different fuel pump in from another car, said the fuel filter was real bad. changed that, were thinking of buying a new fuel pump but there 300$ and if thats not the prob, it could be costly with no solution to whats wrong.. any suggestions? I read in one post about the IAC in kick pannel and i did steam clean my car could that be it? pls help, we went and looked at a bunch of other cars today,, none compare to my grand am..
