I bought a 1997 LeSabre from my dad. He was using an "aftermarket" Keyless Remote ("Your Valet") I bought a GM Keyless Remote that was for a "LeSabre". I searched all over the web and found some that say it will work, but most sites say it will not work. How can I find out if it's a remote that will work? I don't want to have it not work AND some how have my aftermarket stop working. (I don't care about the aftermarket once I get the GM working, just don't want to lose BOTH).

Also, if the remotoe will work, I may program it wrong and instead of keep trying, give up thinking it doesn't work.
The remote has a BIG "2" on the back. The GM/LEAR is 25695955.
