Old street Jaguars have an ivory shade to their white, I don't know if the racing colour was the same. You might want to try Tamiya's Racing White which is supposed to be the right shade of off white for the '60's F1 Hondas. Maybe some ratio of the two airbrushed would look the business.
While I've always believed that the Racing White was created for the RA272, I've recently been told that it may have actually made for the Jaguar Saloon racing car that preceeded it, also by Tamiya.

I'd say try the Racing White (an ivory color) over white primer.
