Well there are a few things you can check ...
1. All the fittings (ie. the one on the back of the boost gauge and the one on the inlet manifold) are nice and tight.
2. That there are no creases in the vaccum line leading to the gauge, like where it has twisted or folded over at some stage.
3. That there aren't any holes in the vaccum line, might be a bit hard to find.
Best thing to do would be to "borrow" another boost gauge, preferably the same type, and swap it with the one that's playing up. Then you should be able to narrow it down to just a faulty gauge, or vaccum line. (ie. if the readings stay the same then it probably isn't the gauge)
