I don't know about the 2000 models, but on the 2001's, you proceed as follows: With the key off, pull back on the signal/multifunction lever and hold it back until you turn the ignition on and then off twice. Now release the signal lever. You should hear the door lock and unlock once. You are now in the programming mode. In the next ten seconds, you should press the lock side of the power lock switch on the door panel twice. That should do it, unless you waited more than 10 seconds, in which case the truck automatically exits the programming mode. Good Luck
