My cutlass had that same exact problem, so i replaced the battery and alternater thinkin that would fix it, but it didnt, there were no shorts anywere either, the car started fine after you gave it a jump or charged the battery but you couldnt shut it off and turn it on right away because the battery would die. So i changed that starter and it has started great ever since.
