Re: Re: electric turbo charge....

Racial slurs are not welcome here on AF.com. And Logikal is right, those Electric blower deals really don't work. If they did, you'd see them on all cars. Not some shiesty website.

Lates.

Well, I agree the electric super chargers found on ebay for $200 are a bunch of crap, the one linked above is not one of those units. First off it costs $2000. It also requires a battery bank to be run in the trunk. If you look closely you will see it has a roots style blower attached to three motors. The unit can sustain 13psi to redline on a 2L motor @36V. The cache is it only can do 15sec bursts with 20 min recharge times. At those boost levels it also requires a fuel solution, and a BOV to bleed off excess boost to help sustain the boost curve. While it is a neat concept, this unit presents little cost benefits over a turbo, or super charger system, though to be fair it is designed to compete with NO2 systems, for quick instant shots of power, (just it does not require bottle refills.) , not with Turbo or Super charger systems.

I would say for 2k+ fuel solution, bov, and other misc. costs, such as a high output alternator, get a turbo kit and be happy.
