wet sanding is using very fine grit sand paper (4000 grit-12000grit) to smooth out surfaces without ruining the paint job (you must work slowly to aviod sanding through paint coats) tamiya compound gets rid of small imperfections and a small layer of paint. tamiya polish shines your car... I personally primer on every car. the process should be sanding, compounding, and then polishing, but you might have to wetsand in between for a perfect finish. wetsanding in between primer and final paint coats also even out paint surface and add to a smooth surface.
