Question Newbie car dilemma

Hi ,I'm new to this forum and I'm somewhat stuck in a dilemma in buying a new car in August '05. It's kinda a bit early to ask, but I'd prefer to decide early and research it thoroughly then choose not too long before I buy the car. Oh, and I may sound quite a bit spoiled but this is a deal my parents are willing to make for getting accepted into uni.
I live in Ontario, and I have 6k to work with (planning for a 240sx), but when I brought the idea of buying a used car to my parents, they gave me a deal. The deal was, I can buy whatever car I wanted with my own money but they won't help with anything (such as insurance, repairs, maintenance, etc) but, if I let them buy the car (my car of choice), they will take care of insurance, certain repairs, maintenance, and I will pay them back in monthly installments (something like a finance with 0% interest). If I let my parents pay, the limitations are that the car has to be a brand new model and so far they havn't given me a suggestion the most that they are willing to invest, but they keep pushing me into getting a Tiburon.
Now regardless of the car I get, I am planning to drift occasionally (if I can find a place to do it). I do somewhat do lowspeed e-brake drifts with my elantra (usually 60-80km/h but even then I don't think with my driving ability is considered a drift, prolly just some fishtail :/ or a powerslide). Since I'm planning to drift, I'd like to know some suggestions on the newer cars, since I've already decided on the 240sx if I buy. From what I have learned, MR's and FR's are ideal at drifting, and seeing what cars Ontario has to offer, nothing fits witin the pricerange. I guess that means I'm going to have to invest a bit into changing that. And even though they are willing to invest in a car as expencive as the Tiburon, I don't think I'd drift in it, as it is quite possible for me to crash, and fixing a Tiburon is probably way out of my price range. I have crashed my elantra a few times, nothing serious though, mostly curb and garbage. Anyways, if you don't mind, please suggest a few possible cars that are under let's say... 25k (enormous amount but can't really overule the possibility of a tiburon) and an estimate on the price to make it more ideal to drift with.
Thanks and Sorry for the trouble (especially since my post is so large)
