I will say one thing about american muscle... they got TORQUE. But all around, Japan cars are better made. More thought goes in to get more horses. American cars just keep putting bigger and bigger displacement motors in their cars to get more muscle. but if you look at companys like Mazda, they started using the rotary engine in their cars. The RX-7 twin turbo rotary engine is only 1.3 liters, yet puts out 220 horsepower stock.
