1990 Buick Regal

I have a 1990 Buick Regal with a v6 3.1L engine that has an electrical problem. When trying to start the car the car will crank but it will not start. I know that it’s not fuel related because I can smell fumes from the gas when ever I try to start the car… I can also here the fuel pump whirling just before cranking. I have already changed the Ignition control Module, and the Coil packs, so I know the problem does not lye there

The whole problem started when my wife came from out of a store and couldn’t start the car… she said that the car made it to the store without any problems, (except for a slight pause when idling at a stop light while going to the store.)

After changing the ICM and coil packs (which did not work) I thought that I had a bad computer, but now after reading a few post here I have a feeling that it might be a sensor to either the camshaft or crankshaft.

I’m stumped, and I need help in a worst way...
