FERRARI FESTIVAL 2002

"Following the success of the first Ferrari Festival with thousands of people attending Brands Hatch last July, Ferrari UK and Octagon Motorsport will join forces once again at the 2002 Autosport Show where they will announce plans for this year’s Festival.

Ferrari will also take the opportunity at the show to formally present the 2002 Ferrari Challenge season, which starts at Jarama Circuit in Spain on 6 and 7 April, finishing at the Mugello race track in Italy on 19 and 20 October.

The UK race of the Ferrari Challenge is scheduled to take place at Brands Hatch on 3/4 August, in conjunction with the Ferrari Festival, an event which will bring to the Kent circuit over 200 current and historic Ferrari models.

"With the Ferrari Festival at Brands Hatch, last year we created one of the largest gatherings of Ferrari cars ever assembled in the UK," says Richard Mackay, Managing Director of Maranello Concessionaires Limited. "Last year’s Ferrari Festival attracted a massive crowd of close to 30,000 and it looks as though this year we’ll do even better, with even more cars and more racing action."

Visitors to the Octagon Experience at the Autosport International Show in Hall 11 will have a chance to admire the Ferrari 360 Challenge car, which won last year’s Class 2 race at Brands Hatch, with gentleman driver John Seale at its wheel.

The most important features of the racing version of the 360 include an F1 gearbox, Magneti Marelli data logging system, aeronautic-type fuel tank, special Brembo brakes, BBS wheel rims with Pirelli PZero slick tyres and a special racing seat with six-point belts.

The engine power and features are identical to the road version of the 360 Modena – a 3586 cc 90° V8 engine which produces maximum power of 400 bhp."
