i thought drifiting only should be done w/manual b/c you get ultimate control of the car, but then i saw hot version vol 62 (i think) and tsuchiya keiichi was drifting a automatic GT3240 turboed z33. but then again, he's doriking and the car had like 500 ponies....
but just as peeps said, you'll get used to manual and it becomes 2nd nature. I learned in sf where i was either stalling or backing into everyone on hills.
