yea...OD opens the higher gear and it shifts into it when ur at a steady speed so it saves gas, notice if u turn off OD when ur just driving at a steady speed it jumps up in RPMs and the car kind of tilts forward when u let off the gas? that is when it is in a lower gear..it is the same way in a 5-speed tranny
