The problem is in the front console - where you turn on the front/rear blower - inside there is a place that needs to be resoddered. My neighbor put a small jumper wire and plenty of solder on it and has worked great ever since. Or you can get an new one for about 400.00 from the dealer.
They tend to last about 3 years depending how much it is used. Apparetly poor design. To much electricity going through the small wire and it burns out. Not much to get it out, when you open it up you can see the brown area where it was hot - there are pictures to see what I'm talking about.
Appartently common problem with this vehicle.
