Re: fuel guage not working, 87 yota pickup

ok i found out that if you unplug it then the fuel guage should go to full, well i looked and all i can see out of the top of the tank is a pair of wires together and yellow round harness connector under there at pass side frame rail top by the tank, i unplugged that and the needle didnt move at all, with key on yes,

is either of those two wires the fuel guage sender wire at all then ?> or do two wires go to F.I. pump ?

im removing the bed most likely tomorrow, this will help things along, i might even pull the sender out and check to make sure the kid that put in the new fuel pump before i had the truck did it right and to make sure the floater is still on the sender unit arm

wiring diagram looks like shows brown wire for fuel guage from the tank sender unit


right ?
