Adhesive..You can pull them off, but you'll prolly have to do a lotta grinding where the trim was as it tends to leave behind pieces of itself that just do not wanna come off easily. Plan on repainting at least the area where the trim was.
I just left the trim on mine and repainted it to match the car's color scheme. Somehow I think the car would look strange without the beltline trim...
