You can't use early offset wheels on a 924. The 924 shares the same suspension and track as the 944, the difference is in the offset and the fender flares. If you try to use 944 wheels on a 924, they will stick out way too far. That being said, I have a 16x8 wheel on my car with about a 40mm offset, and I have to use a very short tire in order to clear my front fender wells.

I have seen one 924 without flared fenders using 15x8 944 wheels, it looked quite good but the tires rubbed going aroudn every corner, and eventually burst.
