I doubt mine is welded beacuse it's made out of wood with some "carpeting" on it. When I climb into the trunk, I see the screws holding the speakers in place. It sounds as if someone has done a custom installation/ butcher job. Chrysler never used wood to make that deck.
You will likely have to figure out whats been done and reverse it or take it to a car stereo shop.
