you have to remove the transmission completely.
Once you get that out you must remove the torque converter
the shaft the torque converter sits on has a usuaully black or orange rubber piece where the shaft meets the case. Not THAT hard to replace, just make sure you reinstall the torque converter properly. Since your wording was kind of bad I don't know what you mean exactly. the front face of an auto transmission is the pump, do you mean the front seal like I described or the pump seal? the pump seal is a bit harder, usually 10mm bolts hold that into place all around in a circle, and then you have to pry it out VERY VERY carefully! On the outside edge where the pump rests, where all the bolts hold it down, is the pump gasket
