Hey everyone!!! I haven't been around in over a year, but I've got something done and ready to post.
Haven't built anything in a loooong time.
This is a Revell Wheels of Fire snap together kit with rolling wheels. Looks much like a toy on the box sides. I've done many mods and updated the older version to a 2004 turbo beetle, not the Turbo S version. This was built for a friend who shares the same birthday as myself. She just got the car and this is her second beetle. She loves her little red turbo

so I felt that she needed a "baby" version to have indoors. It is painted with the touch up paint " Uni Red " from Volkswagen. The only thing I couldn't get is the "Turbo" Porsche-like script that goes below the VW badge in the rear lid. If anyone knows of a photoetched piece, please do tell. I'm probably going to give it away this weekend if I see her. There are some with the display base. Spent about 3 weeks on this little beetle. There were many differences in the kit due to the production/ model years. I'll list the things done if someone asks, but here are the pics. Oh what the hell. I'll list some anyways:
scratchbuilt wheels, all mirrors, new headlight lenses, added brakes, new head rests, photoetch details, converted 5 speed to automatic, roof antenna, scribed in sunroof, added flower vase, and personalized license plates (courtesy of a good friend) Sorry there are a lot of images.
Real cute huh?
