I agree with both replys but i knew of a ford tempo that did the same thing and come to find out there is a sensor or a relay that if it gets hot it will stop the singnal to the fuel pump this tempo was acting exactly like this post stated.
You could also try at home to be sure the throttle body is clean with some spray cleaner (I just posted how to do this in another post if you dont konw how) only reason Im saying that is the fact of its cheep and anyone can do it. Then if your brave try replaceing the fuel filter. If neither of this home tips work look into that sensor I was talking about but im afraid I dont remember the name of it but pepboys was able to find it and charged like 100.00 for the job.
