Check the ECT connections on the fan and the ECT switch.

Check continuity of the ECT switch on the passenger side of the radiator lower tank. When the engine is cold, there should be continuity between the contacts. If there is no continuity, replace the ECT switch.

Check continuity of the cooling fan relay. Remove the relay from the box next to the battery. The relay is at the rear of the box, next to the fender.

Looking at the relay from the contact side with the horizontal contact up, the left to right vertical contacts are numbered 1, 2, 3; and the horizontal contact is number 4.

There should be continuity between contacts 1-2.
There should be continuity between contacts 3-4.

Apply battery voltage between contacts 1(-) and 2(+). There should be no continuity between 3-4.

If any of the above fail, replace the relay.
