well, if you can squeal the tires into 2nd then sounds like the problem is not grip, maybe because the cars already moving though so it isnt trying to grab it from a dead stop.
you said its adjusted right? how much top pedal play do you have? and wghere does the clutch start to engage? how far off the floor is it fully engaged?
I got a civic with hydraulic clutch, but just put a B20B with high cr pistons in it and man, dont you love the B20's torque. that might be one problem, the clutch might not be ablde to handle the torque if it is a real cheap one? does it do it even when taking off normally or only when trying to drop it quick at 3k+
