no need for the straw crap...
first, put the car in fifth gear and no parking brake so you can pull the car forward.
now look from above at ur crank pulley. There will be 4 timing marks on it. There will be 3 bunched together and a fourth one about an inch away from it. pull ur car forward until that 4th mark lines up with the timing mark located on the lower timing belt cover. when that is lined up, check to see if ur cam gear marks line up with the ones on ur upper timing belt cover. If they don't, loosen ur tensioner pulley (14 mm). slide off the belt. hand turn the cam gear (or with pliers) until the lines are lined up on the cam gear. no slide the belt back over the gear and tighten the belt at the tensioner pulley. Now tighten the pulley to 40 ft/lbs of torque. Done...i've done it this way for years and it only takes about 10 mins to do.
