Don't put off the A/C because you don't use it , it also runs in defrost/defog to provide dry air to the window, also the "beefy sound" was probably tha a/c running. The new R134 systems are all alot louder than the old R11 systems. Good Luck.
Thanks you guys. I thought that the A/C might need recharged but after listening to others I figured its whimpiness was just because of the dodge. It does cool down but takes a little while but never really blows super cold like I have had in the past. The D seems to be running fine now. So far no problems. The small flucuation in the idle is gone. Husband took it out for a long drive and the static sound and weird idle is no longer. Just a little leary about it doing it again in the middle of now where. Which is where I live. We don't have an auto zone closes thing is Checker. Thanks mindy
