You can get sheet metal at your local lowes/home depot, for a price. You'll probably pay around $10-$20 for a 2'x2' piece. I get all my metal from my local metal recycler. They have a warehouse filled with recycled metal. Its quite a bit cheaper there, but it still ain't cheap. Steel has gotten very expensive...
