Jack...Haibane is correct. The reason the subs are available in different impedances is for different configurations. Lets say you have an amp that will do 1 ohm mono and you want to use 1 sub. Then a dual 2 ohm voice coil sub is what you want. If you want to use two subs then you will need 2 dual 4 ohm voice coil subs or 2 single 2 ohm voice coil subs. The impedance is so you can match your sub configuration with your amplifiers for the best possible results.
