A supercharged fwd 4 will suffer from massive tire spin due to that low end. The turbo will probably still beat you off the line as a result and hit harder in the upper rpm range, as you said. Also, easier to tune around the turbo. Overall a better choice for a small displacement 4. There's a reason most every factory forced induction 4 cylinder import is turboed and not supercharged...
