Re: 99 Alero cruise problem
Check to see if you have a vaccum or electric motor style control unit. If you have a vaccum style then remove the vaccum line and (using a vaccum device) see if it moves the cruise cable and throttle. If you have a mechanical unit you will need to test for proper function by removing the connector and applying 12 volts to the unit by means of jumper wires. If it is not that then it is the control module or speed sensor.
