well, i cant help u abut the gearing and speed because i have teh SI prelude, btw ur makin it sound liek u dont have a tach,
, but to answer ur question about the idle, no the prelude is suppose to idle i belive 800 rpms but anywhere from 8-9 hundred is ok, 2000 is way way to high.
