Any bike is too dangerous if you dont ride smart...a 125 can kill you as quick as a 1000. If your smart, and ride that way, a 600 is a perfect bike to learn on, and it still has room and ability to grow with you, so you probably wont outgrow it anytime soon. I know the 600 sportbikes they make now are almost impossible to ride to their full potential on the street anymore...I sure haven't found the limit of my RR yet...
