Make sure the system is free of air. Sometimes it takes a little time to bleed the system thoroughly. Also, you are probably relying on the dash guage for your reading, and it may not be correct. Use an automotive thermometer to get an accurate reading. It may be the temp sending unit mot giving a prpoer reading. Also maybe the rad fan sw (in some cars its the coolant temp sensor) is not functioning properly and puts the fans on late or not at all.
