Question Worst Accident?

Ok, we've already done the fastest people have gone and a bunch of other fun things. But what about the not so fun part of driving, accidents. So lets hear some stories, whats your worst accident?

For me i was a passenger while my cousin was driving my aunts van. A 94 Dodge Caravan, basscially 5000lbs of solid iron So we were just driving around after dropping off some friends at a party, there were three of us left in the car. My cousin driving, me in the passenger seat and our friend Brad in the middle seat right next to the sliding door.

We came to a 4 way intersection with like 3 lanes in each direction. We wanted to to turn so we could head to wendy's for some food. We come to the intersection, get into the turning lane behind another car thats already started rolling thru the turn. The arrows still green so we follow. Just as we passed under the lights in the middle of the intersection the arrow went off. We were already half way though the turn, then next thing i hear is tires screeching like we're at the strip or something. I look towards the sound to see whats going on, maybe a street race in the lanes next to us, then all i see is a blur of white and red coming straight for the van. Then it hits, spins the van a full 3/4 around, slams us into a buick lasabre's ass end, which we totaled! nothing left from the back seats to the back bumper(which were in about the same spot at this point).

He hit us in the right rear quarter panel, on the right rear tire Smashed up the door, bent the axle, shattered a window, just totalled the Van.

What was it that hit us? Some dumbass kid in a frickin POS late 80's trans am. Ok, before i continue i'll give you a short run down of Newfoundlands driving laws. First, you can get your permit at 16, take a written test, pay a fee and it's yours. That lets you practice with an experienced driver over 25 i the passenger seat and no one else in the car. You need to have that for a year, then you can apply for your road test where an instructor takes you out on the rods and does the standard road test. You pass that and you get your license. But even then you can only drive from like 6am to like 12pm, and there are other restricions for a year or more.

The kid that hit us was 15, no permit, no license, driving his uncles car that his parents had agreed to buy from his uncle to give to hin on his 17th birthday when he got his license. They left it in the diveway with the keys in the house when they left him at home alone while they went on vacation. What happened was he stopped at the intersection, saw there was a red light and waited. Now when the red goes out a second later it goes amber for about 5 seconds or so, then changes to green, just like all lights. This dumbass saw the red go out, didn't wait for the amber, or even the green, thinking, "ok, it's not red, i can go now." doesn't even look up to see if it's clear, revs the engine and waps it into gear, the car shot out and hit us. Then the dumbass left the scene of the accident to go home and get some id or something.

So, anyone got anything to top that?
