FR, is Front Engine, Rear Wheel Drive. MR2s, FC3Ss, RX8s, Miata's, 240s etc have that set up. Much better for drifting, because the car is being pushed along, instead of being pulled as in the FF setup.

-First off Mr Iketani, Front engine Front wheel drive cars do come with differentials, in fact every car hasa differential. They may not usually come with Limited slip differentials (power can be transferred from wheel to wheel, and split in between the wheels), and instead have open differentials (Open diff's only send power to one wheel at a time), but alot of Rear Wheel Drive cars have open diff's too. Also the diff tends to be under the trunk, and is always inbetween the wheels. What you are stepping over is the driveshaft tunnel, not the diff.
-Secondly Mr Iketani, the MR2 in all its forms is a Mid-Engined Rear Wheel Drive car, the engine actually sits infront of the rear axle, but behind the driver. A Rear engined Rear wheel drive car the engine sits behind the axle, and powers the rear wheels. An All Wheel drive car comes with 3 differentials, for splitting power between all 4 wheels. For example the Skyline can send most of the power to the rear wheels and act like a FR, or it can send the power to the front wheels to act like a FF, but most the time it spilts the power to where its needed. a 4 wheel drive car locks all the wheels together and they all turn at the same speed, useful for towing things, but not that great for racing.
