Actually Martin I use real rust. I rustout some steel wool overnight in a glass with water, allow to dry into a fine powder then apply with a VERY mild mix of thinner and flat black for coloring.
The coolest part is that it actually changes and really rusts!! It's real metal particles so it worsens with time.
