I have a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4X4. About eight months ago the speedometer quit working (during winter). However, I noticed that if I drove it a long distance that the check engine light would come on. After about 10 to 15 min. the light would go out and the Speedo would start working. Not right at first, it would go up to about 10 to 15 MPH and then start jumping around for a little while until it would start working right. Now that the temperature has warmed up the Speedo starts working right away. Not right at first, but it gets there. Same as during the winter, just not as long. I replaced the Speedo censer after taking in and having it looked at. Guess what it didn’t fix the problem. I’m in Germany so there are not a lot of Nissan dealers. I called one in the states and he told me that it could be the Speedo head. He says it a little gear on the back of the Speedo gauge. I pull my gauge cluster out and look at it guess what there is no cable going in to the cluster, only electrical connections. Has any one else had this problem?
