I should also mention the overweight kids she works with have medical conditions that make them gain weight in extreme excess and not caused from bad eating habits. The saddest story she told me was a kid, I believe, 13 and weighs 650lbs.
My old roomate use to be on the heavier side, but more of the same, and started jogging. In like 3 months we all noticed a tremendous difference. And then he just kept up with it from there.
I would maybe watch the Calorie Camando on the Food Network. He finds healthier ways to make the food people love. I saw last week, him make chilli cheese fries and cut out like 600 calories and almost all of the fat. Best of luck.
