Well, you should be able to get something like a 2.20s or so in your car. Friend of mine had a 1993 S-10 with a 4.3 V-6 auto. and it had somethign like a 2.66 60 ft. time.
You're doing OK since you're new at it but once you learn how to launch the car, then you'll see big improvements.
