umm.... I completely took out my compressor and drained out the oil (PLEASE TELL ME YOU DID THIS) and cleaned everything out. I have a 92 LX. I converted my system to R134. From what my manual says, 94+ civics have R134 and anything before that has R12. I just hope you didnt use the wrong type. Overfilling the system will cause the compressor to turn on and off due to there being too much pressure. It has a sensor to shut off the compressor if there is too much pressure. My car under the hood says to only use 20 or 22 OZ of freon so I have no idea where you got your numbers from. The compressor clutch engages and dissengages for a reason. Please do not keep it jumped You dont want anything to explode on you. 2 cans of freon was already to much for my car. I only used about 1 can and 6/8ths of a second can and that was perfectly fine. I kept a thermometer in my vent to test the temp and after so much tweaking and trying different amounts, the thermometer hit 32 degrees I think that is cold enough for me and I stopped there. Works like a beauty now. Pay attention to how much is in there. Too much, wont engage or will very shortly, Too little, will never engage. Good luck
