you are screwed. that is a problem that mazda has had for YEARS!!! once that happens you will have rough shifting and then it will start slipping until your tranny is toast. i had a 97 millenia until my friend totalled it in january, same problem, if you know a mechanic that you can really trust they should be able to take care of it. my mechanic said it was something in the tranny computer that had to be by passed, you will lose the "hold" feature but who cares. my friend had an mpv, same problem, toasted tranny twice, my best friend had a 626, after three trannys he gave up and bought a nissan.
