I was fortunate enough to have a specialty rotary workshop that specialises in rebuilding and selling old Mazda RX7s at a reasonable price, like five minutes from my house. Maybe you could try to find a shop that does a similar thing?

Otherwise good luck...be patient, A car that old will probably need work but if you wait long enough, and check out as many cars as you can you will eventually find one that stands out. If you get a good one to begin with it will save you a lot of trouble later on.
