For programming the remote I got the basic instructions from this website chevy/non-specific. The directions for where very similiar to what I did but not exact. It took a little playing to get it to work right.

My only concern was that I would screw it up and turn on the anti-theft and not be able to turn it off. THat would leave me with a vehicle that I can't start. I would then have to have it towed to the dealer.

A guy named ShortBus@AF seams to really have a good handle on this, enquire to him for the Alero Specific instructions.
