It jusr depends on which B18C he is talking about. The JDM B18C is 2 DIFFERENT engines...the first is the B18C from an Integra SI-R. This is the JDM equivalent to the GSR, though it outs down a littl emore power at the wheels, 178hp, and has a higher compression...10.6:1. The second B18C motor is the JDM Type-R, which has 200HP, 133 ft-lbs of torque and a 10.6:1 c/r. 5K is about right for that engine package. The vavle cover is of course red on the type-r B18C and it's black on the Si-R B18C, so that's an easy way to tell which one it is lookign at the 2.

In Japan, the engine codes don't have numbers after them, so no B16A2 and B16A3, no B18C1 and B18C5. All B16A's are just that, B16A, regardless of vehilce and generation. And all the B18C motors are just that, B18C. No B18C1 for the SI-R (JDM GSR equivelant) and no B18C5 for the type-r. A GSR swap may cost 3-3.5K, and an SI-R B18C swap should cost around that too. However, the Type-R B18C should cost around 5K,which is exactly what kicker stated.

You too are just probably thinking of the 2 different JDM B18C's, he's probably thinking price wise of the type-r B18Cand you of the Si-R B18C.
