Hey all I'm new to this forum and I have a question to anyone experienced enough to answer it. okay the question IS:
I have a 89 crx and so far I've put a newer D15 from japanengine.com and changed the intake manifold to MPFI (multi point fuel injection) from a crx si, also added a cold air intake, 4-2-1 header and solid 2.5 inch exhaust with no cat and a Stage2 Exedy Clutch and Flywheel. now my problem is I simply can't find a happy point for launching this car I've tried dumping the clutch at 2000-5000 rpm and the result is always just a really bad shaking in the front and wheel spin/hop. I know it's not the shocks because they are ALL new so this leaves me to beleive it's my rims and tires, they are 17"konig verdicts w/ low profile tires, are these the cause of my problem or is it the motor mounts? I've heard low profile tires just don't grip the road at all. I've tried lowering and raising psi in them to and still always the same. would I be able to launch better with say 16's or 15's ? I know in my accord that I have on 15s you can drop the clutch and it jumps forward I'm really getting discouraged here with this so any advice is welcome. I've also heard of feathering the clutch but I just don't see how that would work..anyways thanks in advance to everyone =)
